library
What is the Library ?
The library has two objectives: the first objective is to allow users to find old campaigns and replay content.
The player will be invited to come back and play in the library as often as possible to achieve expert status
The second objective is to increase the acquisition of knowledge: Every time a player plays back a piece of content, reads the library, and tries to gain expert status he enters a learning phase.
Even though the player may know the answer before playing by reading the library, the app has served its purpose. There is no cheating with the library.
The content of the library corresponds to past campaigns, still active in your back office. To have a good library, it is therefore necessary to have several active campaigns. Inactive content will not be present in the library and the current campaign will not be accessible before its end date.
2. How to give players the best library experience?
You will understand, above all, the very first step goes through the creation of the content:
The title of knowledge: It is advisable to put a comprehensible title. This title will be visible to the player in the library. It must therefore be as clear as possible.
Be careful, if knowledge has a logical sequence as its title, (I, II, III ...) it is the order of questions in the campaign day by day that will define the order of knowledge in the library
The image that accompanies the title is also important, because it is this image that will illustrate the knowledge in the library. If you do not place an image, note that the first image embedded in the question, will illustrate knowledge.
You must then complete the "explanation" part and the "know more" part
- Explanation: this is the item that will appear when you open a library window. It is therefore very important to fill it in: it is the explanation of knowledge.
Even though it will automatically serve as the answer for the gameplay you are going to create, the reverse is not true. If this field is left blank, knowledge of the library will be too.
Text is limited to 256 characters. Try to take advantage of the space available to you. A short answer can be used as an answer, but not for the library. Try to flesh out the text a bit more.
Consider this question: "Is my text understandable without the question?"
If the answer is no, then I will invite you to rephrase the explanation.
- know More: This is a deepening of the explanation. While it is not mandatory in the creation of knowledge, it is a plus that we invite you to use to invite players to increase their knowledge.
In the library it will be translated with a "Know More" button which will allow the player to access larger text which can be up to 10,000 characters long.
Once all of these elements have been completed, you need to complete the knowledge with gameplay of your choice.
There is however a rule to follow, for a knowledge, it is advisable to create only one gameplay.
If you write multiple gameplays out of knowledge, you will end up with a library overrun with duplicating knowledge:
If you have for example 3 gameplays in a single knowledge, the library will present 3 times the same title, 3 times the same explanation and 3 times the same image.
The only difference between these three elements is that the replay button will allow you to play 3 different questions, but nothing will allow you to distinguish one button from the others.
Conversely, if the 3 questions come from 3 different backgrounds, then the library will be much more clear and readable.
